Blastocyst Grading. l. lisa3005. Group Owner. Posted 19/12/13. Okay I may aswell bite the bullet and post this as I know it will play on my mind. How important is the grading when it comes to blastocyst transfer. I've just had two frozen blasts transferred, they said they thawed perfectly and were 4bb and 4cc I think is what they said and were. Some clinics love numbers so much they convert the letters to numbers. A 4AA would be represented as 4-3-3, a 4CC as 4-1-1. Blastocyst Embryo Grading and Success Rates. Before reading this please be aware that these success rates are based on large groups of women who were all treated in similar ways with similar backgrounds We had 1 embryo on day 3 that was graded a 2. Our clinic grades day 3 transfers on a 1-5 scale 1 being the highest. As other have said you have to take the embryo grading with a grain of salt because so many people have success with so many different grades Hi, I had an embryo through DE IVF it was a 1CD on day 5 (pretty rubbish) on day 6 it was a 5BB so theoretically if transfered fresh I would have put in a 1CD and got MENTS a healthy girl END MENTS, as a poster has said above how it thaws is important, my one 5BB had 90% cell survival and was fully expanded which is a good indicator, also a good womb lining, take all the supplements, Meds. Embryo Grading and Success Rates. Once fertilized, embryos are graded according to their form and quality. The most common scale uses a number and 2 letters to describe each embryo ('4AB' for example). Transfers using excellent grade blastocysts have a pregnancy rates of about 65%
Therefore, a 7-cell Grade F embryo might have same chances of survival than a 8 cell grade A embryo on Day 3. So basically, a quality grade of embryo at Day 3 will be a 6-9-cell grade A embryo. If we talk about embryo grading and success rates, this is the first thing you need to know. Embryo grading Day In this post we'll learn more about IVF with PGS success rates for euploid embryos. We'll also look at the chances of getting a euploid based on age, the impact of embryo grade and the day it was frozen (Day 5, 6 or 7), and how rebiopsies or thaw and biopsies fare for success rates.. For more background info, check out my post on PGS Testing (opens in new tab A blastocyst is a human embryo that's five or six days old. Ten years ago, day-three embryos were routinely transferred in IVF cycles. Most clinics now believe that transferring better-developed embryos - i.e. those that have reached the blastocyst stage - makes an ongoing pregnancy more likely. 2 IVF success rates vary upon age. A woman 35 and younger will have a 30 - 50% success rate per cycle and 80% or better after three cycles. Conversely, women over age 42 have 5% success rates per cycle and less than 10% after 3 cycles. When donated eggs are used, success rates per cycle rise to 60% PGS skeptics believe advertised PGS success rates mislead patients. Patients often hear PGS-normal embryos have a 60 - 70% success rate. But that is on a per-transfer basis. Meaning that if you begin a cycle, retrieve eggs, produce embryos, then do PGS testing, and at least one embryo comes back normal, 60 - 70% of the time it will.

Years ago, when embryo testing was performed on 8-cell embryos, removal of more than one cell would reduce the potential of that embryo to produce a pregnancy. More recently, embryo testing is being performed when an embryo has reached the blastocyst stage. Blastocysts are embryos which have divided to over 100 cells over the course of 5 to 6 days How Fast The Embryo Is Dividing. Most experts will tell you that the speed at which an embryo reaches any given stage (like the blastocyst stage) correlates with its odds of success. Below is data from over 1,000 transfers of frozen-thawed embryos with results broken out by the day the embryos reached the blastocyst stage

Embryo selection is one of the most important factors influencing the success of ART treatment. A major advancement in the practice of in vitro fertilization (IVF) has been the development of advanced embryo culture media (Sunde et al., 2016), which has extended embryo culture and enabled reproductive specialists to pivot away from cleavage-stage (day 3) (Taylor et al., 2014. Cleavage stage embryos are graded using 2 criteria: the number of cells in the embryo and their appearance under a high-power microscope. While the cell number is objective, the score for appearance is subjective using a score of 1-4. The Basics. You may undergo a frozen embryo transfer (FET) cycle whenever you have frozen embryos and wish to use them. This may be after the delivery of a child when you wish to come back and use your frozen embryos to grow your family, or it could be after an unsuccessful stimulated in vitro fertilization (IVF) cycle in which you had embryos cryopreserved The embryos divide over the next few days and have a typical appearance as they progress. Approximately 5 days after retrieval, the embryos reach what is called as the blastocyst stage. A blastocyst consists of an inner cell mass (which forms the baby), the outer cell mass (or trophectoderm, which forms the placenta) and there is a fluid filled. The National Embryo Donation Center facilitates embryo adoption, which is a process where couples donate their unused frozen embryos to another infertile couple to use. This way, embryos are not wasted or discarded, and couples who haven't had success with egg retrieval or fertilization have a much greater chance of having a baby
